How It Works: Julep’s Caging Process
1. Receiving: Mail is picked up daily from your PO box or forwarded directly to our secure facility. Chain of custody begins the moment we retrieve it.
2. Processing: Donations are opened, sorted, and reviewed. Exceptions are flagged, large gifts are verified, and batches are prepared for deposit and data entry.
3. Depositing: Using Check 21 technology, funds are deposited electronically often the same day they’re received.
4. Scanning: Checks and response forms are scanned, archived, and linked to the appropriate donor record in Julep.
5. Data Entry: New donations are entered or matched to existing records. Credit card gifts are processed securely. Duplicate and error checks are built in.
6. Archival: All records are backed up to secure cloud storage and physical tape backups, ensuring your data is safe and accessible. Documents are available in Julep.
